The Regulatory Reform (RRO) (Fire safety) Order 2005 or Fire Safety Order as its often referred to has shown in the previous years that repercussions for the 'responsible person(s)' of any buildings open to the public face very severe prosecutions if found guilty of having fire safety equipment/devices (THIS INCLUDES FIRE DOORS) that are not fit for purpose. FDA can provide a service that takes away this risk, and gives the responsible person(s) a sense of comfort that the checks have been made by a recognised body (FDIS).
Article 17 of the RRO (Fire Safety Order) places a legal obligation on them to have 'a suitable maintenance regime to ensure relevant equipment is kept in an efficient state'. This does not just mean alarms and extinguishers. FIRE DOORS ALSO. FDA is fully aware of all the legalities that surround Article 17 and the RRO, and we ensure that our inspectors fully educate the client on the guidelines this sets.
